Cultivating Emotional Intelligence through journaling.

That’s how we plant the seeds of Sustainable Leadership at IBM:)🪴

Bringing home over 70 handwritten EQ journals from my HEG IBM students — a reminder of how reflective practice can spark personal growth.
Over the past two weeks, my students have been exploring self-awareness and self-regulation through daily exercises such as:
✨ Writing down daily gratitudes
🌱 Trying something new each day
💌 Sending thank-you messages to people who positively impacted thier lives; etc.

The goal of this activity was to help them increase their emotional intelligence, experiment with positive psychology techniques, and reflect on the impact of these small, intentional actions.
This idea was inspired by Shawn Achor’s insightful TED Talk “The Happy Secret to Better Work” — highly recommended if you haven’t seen it yet!

What makes me happy is that my previous students tell me from time to time that they contiune to journal and that they find it helpful.
