On Friday, 21st March 2025 I had a privilege to deliver 45 min talk to a group of 40 people from around the world who work for Honeywell.
They key takeaways on how to handle change and staying resilient can be summarised by the following points:
To overcome a fear of change:
- Fear blocks action; the key is to cultivate curiosity, honesty, and courage.
- Clarify values: Understand what matters most and assess alignment with daily life.
- Define your own success (beyond money, power, status) to gain freedom and clarity.
- Support systems and self-reflection (e.g., journaling, coaching) help move from stress/freeze to action.
On building resilience:
- Resilience is holistic: mind, body, emotions, intuition, and spirit all matter.
- Lean on support systems: family, friends, colleagues, and networking.
- Use self-questioning tools: “Will this matter in 5 years?” or challenge the critical inner voice.
- Engage in human connection and fun for energy and motivation.
- Gratitude and purpose strengthen resilience.
On Embracing Continuous Learning:
- Lifelong learning includes technical (e.g., digital skills) and emotional skills (EQ).
- Action plans and roadmaps keep progress on track during transitions.
- Self-discipline and motivation are key to long-term success.
- Upskilling leads to adaptability and opportunity in evolving industries.
On Navigating Organizational Change:
- Self-regulation tools (journaling, meditation) support well-being in corporate shifts.
- Set clear boundaries; assess if staying or leaving serves your growth.
- Address “hidden loyalties” and inherited workplace culture to gain clarity.
- Develop conflict management and EQ to navigate team dynamics.
- Change can lead to growth if approached with intentionality and reflection.
On Leveraging Change for Growth:
- Reframe change (e.g., layoffs, mergers) as a chance for advancement.
- Focus on purpose and contribution to navigate challenging transitions.
- Shift from fight/flight to engagement using emotional intelligence.
- Detach identity from job title; “I work as…” vs. “I am…” helps maintain perspective.
I really appreciated questions. One made me curious:
How to motivate people who feel very comfortable at their work and don’t see the need to learn and grow?

Absolutely love working as a coach and supporting people in their career changes, life shifts and parental transformations.
Thank you Honeywell team and Juan Martin for inviting me to your network meeting to share my lessons learnt from my coaching practice on how to thrive through & with change.
